Well, Choad-ettes, we got good news and bad news. The bad news is
that the mighty CHOAD has shit the bed and no longer exists. The
"Good News" (religious connotations intentional!) is
that the mighty CHOAD is now officially offering its new
CD to its fans and friends. The best part is, the
motherfucker is FREE!
No, you're not hallucinating. Special thanks to Antonio
from Corkscrew Boar
for helping the mighty CHOAD with technical endeavors it does not
understand, like websites.
As for the remnants of the mighty CHOAD, you can probably catch
Chris and/or Ed in "Sacco & Vanzetti",
"Sterilized Stereo" etc. in the Lawrence, KS area. Who
the fuck knows what "Re-Light" is doing!!! Thanks again
to everybody that ever reached out a helping/friendly hand to the
mighty CHOAD, and we hope you enjoy the new album. This site will
be kept alive as somewhat of an eternal flame to the mighty
CHOAD, please don't expect any updates or responses any time in
the near future.
All right, here's how this works: you can download the CD
artwork right HERE
(in "PDF"
format), and you can download either quality MP3's right HERE, or, for
the audiophiles, lossless
quality FLAC, right HERE. Zap it
into your computer and viola! You own the new mighty CHOAD CD.
You can also visit
the Audio/Video page.

Good morning Vietnam! This is Re-Light in the house, dropping in
to hand-deliver a ridiculously overdue update for all you guys,
gals and other lifeforms out there in Choadville. Although the
Choad has the bad habit of dropping exciting news prematurely, (I
believe it's called "jumping the gun") it is looking
like the new CD (which is entitled "Smell the Love"!)
should be out by late March, early April...as long as no
unfortunate economic/personal phenomena get in the way, and we
all know that kind of shit has a knack of happening at the worst
possible time. On the bright side however, we can't wait to share
the new album with y'all...we feel that it's a fairly substantial
improvement on the last one, and the Choad's drummer Edward is
doing original art for it as well. SO, that being the only
important band news at the moment, I'm signing off. Remember that
the Choad loves you all (especially if you're planning on buying
the new CD, or, check out the old one in the "merch"
section!) and encourages you to hold your head high, regardless
of the fact that we are somewhat trapped and enslaved on this
brutal and sadistic planet. We'll see y'all soon!

Amungus here, with some Choad updates. Looks like
the show at the Torreon isn't happening tomorrow night after all.
I've been informed that the show simply couldn't happen because
of various unexplained reasons. Choad did have some wonderful
times in Manhattan though, Corkscrew
Boar got to open for them at O'Malley's a few weeks back. We
had a blast just getting to see each other again!!! After most of
Choad's set was over, Thuggin' Thad and the Hitman got up with
them for a couple of songs together. There is truly nothing like
three guitars playing different pieces of the same chord at
maximum volume. After the show, I was also let in on some super
top secret info regarding Choad. Their new recording sounds
amazing!!! The one or two songs I had listened to earlier were
actually mixed down, and the rest, well... Nothing short of
astounding. While this may only be a 7 song 'E.P.' as Re-Light
said, the tunes are highly polished works of sound and music. I
do hope the Choad gets this music available to everybody. More on
that as we know, of course. I had asked if we could put up a new
mp3, but this must wait for just a little bit longer, as the
Choad would like to have a copy of the full cd available.
Choad and affiliates send deepest of regards to all those people
affected by Hurricane "Katrina" and hope everyone there
pulls through. A very tragic event for everyone, and our thoughts
go out to everybody affected.
Amungus over and out.

From Re-Light: Hey Choad-a-holics! Once again our apologies for
the length of time in between communications...but then again, if
we said hello to you every day, it wouldn't be special anymore,
would it? I have some news that you've all been waiting for...the
moment has arrived! That's right...the Choad has bent its knees,
mashed its teeth and has shit out yet ANOTHER diamond!!! All we
can tell you now is that it's seven songs long and the recording
process is officially DONE. As far as mastering and
manufacturing, well, that's a completely different fucking story
altogether. Fear not! The Choad is hard at work on this issue and
can't wait to share its new E.P. with you, so more details are
coming soon. In the meantime, check out the updated contacts page
and the new shows page as well in order to witness the Choad's
blistering live show for yourself. (You'll hear tunes from the
new album!) For now, this is Re-Light signing off. (P.S.-why the
fuck is the Choad cursed? Every time we have a CD come out, a
vehicle belonging to a Choad member gets sacrificed...I just
don't get it!)

Choad has emerged into a new year!
Hope everyone had a good holiday season. This little news-flash
is just a quick update for the shows
page courtesy of Amungus (the local
interweb/techno-sapien guy), since I haven't updated anything for
a little while. Choad will be getting a new year off to a rockin'
start with some freshly booked gigs. Oh, and I have heard a
little bit of the new recording, they're working on it piece by
piece. More details will be released as they become available.

Howdy y'all! Sorry we haven't said hi in a while but as you know
the Choad is so damn busy it's just hard to find the time. We
have been busy recording the new album at Alibi 6 studios with our man Atom Smashing from Vibralux. Don't hold your breath though, cuz this one's going to
take longer than the 18 hours it took to do the first one! In the
meantime, the post office box on the Merch page (as well as on
the back of the CD) is not functioning at the
moment...so hold off on sending your fat checks as well as soiled
underwear! This problem will be fixed shortly. For now, you can
still order "It's All Over Now" with your debit or
credit card by clicking on the picture of the CD. Talk to you
soon, cadets...

In a true sign of the end times, the Manhattan
Mercury actually gives a shout out to Re-Light and the Choad.
Check it out here. P.S. The Choad
wants to thank Shawn for helping the Choad take its first baby
steps... and for putting up with the freak who said he was going
to hang himself if he didn't get a gig!

Check out this article from the Iola Register about
Choad's geetar slinger Chris Tady, and his rose-garden life in
the music industry.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Folks, we really don't want to be the type of
band that sticks up every little piece of press about themselves
on their website. But we just couldn't help ourselves! Here are
three reviews from: lawrence.com,
pitch.com, and rockkansas.com
respectively...
"THE GOOD"
"THE
BAD"
"THE
UGLY"
Free press is free press folks, but don't let
these jokers influence your opinion... God Bless their souls...
and all of yours. Go to the merch page (or
click picture below!) to check out the album for yourself.

Well folks,
after making it back from Arizona alive and after six months of
delays, we finally have the new album out. If you want to scoop
up a copy go to the "merch" section. (P.S. If you ever
drive more than 24 hours straight, be sure to check the oil once
in a while.)
